American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP) recommends the use of only portable, battery-powered IPCDs capable of recording and reporting proper wear time for both inpatients and outpatients - this is why the MOBILE COMPRESSION DEVICE (MCD) was born.

The MCD does the same thing as a FACILITY COMPRESSION DEVICE (FCD) to prevent Deep Vein Thrombosis, just in a self contained & smaller version.

"Based on a consensus of the guidelines, these portable MCD's are recommended for both inpatients and outpatients from the start of surgery throughout the entire risk period, which can be up to 14 days and in some instances 30 and even 90 days post-surgical".
